The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes brings people together in a healthy activity for a worthy goal. The Walk is fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. It provides hope, empowerment and a sense of community. Your participation shows your commitment to the large scale movement to conquer type1 diabetes one step at a time.

Why We Walk?

Each participant’s motivation to walk is a story they are quick to share. It may be for themselves, a loved one or a friend or it may be because someone theycare about or their employer asked them to participate. Each year, more than15,000 children and 15,000 adults – approximately 80 people per day – are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the United States. We walk for them,and the nearly 26 million Americans that have diabetes. Who’s your #1?

Why JDRF?

As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research. The Walk to Cure Diabetes is our largest national fundraising event to help JDRF raise funds to accelerate progress toward the most promising opportunities to cure, treat and prevent T1D. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease,JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research.

WalkDay Schedule

  • 9:00 – 11:30AM — Registration & Check-in
  • Games, entertainment, food, fun and more before the Walk
  • 10:00 – 11:00AM — Costume Contest with judging at 11:15AM
  • 11:30AM — Approx. 2 mile walk
  • 3:00PM – Walk to Cure Diabetes concludes

We’ll have music, kids activities, special guests and plenty of family fun including:

Refreshments will be available from local vendors at the Walk.

Team T-Shirt Design Contest

If you made a team t-shirt, dont forget to bring an extra t-shirt to turn in atthe t-shirt contest tent (located near the stage) from 9:00am- 2:00pm. Walkers will be voting for their favorite throughout the day.

Halloween Costume Contest

If you are dressing up in costume as an individual or as a team, stop by the costume contest table and have the judges assess your creativity between 10:00  11:00am. Winners will be announced onstage at 11:15am!
